“Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.  For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.  For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.  He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.”
Prov 4:1-4 KJV (emphasis mine)

“And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children,”
Deu 6:6-7 KJV (emphasis mine)

“My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.”
Prov 1:8-9 KJV (emphasis mine)

Yahuwah has placed in the father's hands the responsibility of teaching his children.  It is not, nor has it ever been, the responsibility of the state, government, or Church to educate and disciple other peoples' children for them.  Biblical Education is the parents responsibility.

      2. What Is Taught? - Again, the Bible is clear on what foundation we are to lay our children's knowledge upon.  It is the foundation of Yeshua and His Word.  This foundation is the most important part of Biblical Education.  Here are just a few verses that speak of this importance:

“The fear of the LORD (Yahuwah) is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.”
Prov 1:7 NIV (emphasis mine)

“Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead,
bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord (Yahuwah.)
Eph 6:4 NIV (emphasis mine)

“Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD (Yahuwah), and find the knowledge of God.
For the LORD (Yahuwah) giveth wisdom: out of His mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.”
Prov 2:5-6 KJV (emphasis mine)

“I will meditate in Thy precepts, and have respect unto Thy ways.
I will delight myself in Thy statutes: I will not forget Thy word.”
Psa 119:15-16 KJV (emphasis mine)

“My hands also will I lift up unto Thy commandments, which I have loved;
and I will meditate in Thy statutes.
Psa 119:48 KJV (emphasis mine)

      3. How Often Is It Taught? - Every year, every month, every day, and every opportune minute.  Biblical Education requires that God's ways be taught throughout the day, during all of our activities.  God's Word can be implanted into our children during math, science, literature, and in any other subject because the Bible does not distinguish between education and discipleship.  The training of our children for their profession and family must be built upon the knowledge of Yeshua and His Word.  Therefore, it must be done all throughout the day.

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.  But his delight is in the law of the LORD (Yahuwah); and in His law doth he meditate day and night.
Psa 1:1-2 KJV (emphasis mine)

“And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them
when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way,
and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

Deu 6:6-7 KJV (emphasis mine)

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
Josh 1:8 KJV (emphasis mine)

Unfortunately, it has become accepted that an hour in Sunday School is enough to offset the all day, every day indoctrination of the secular schools.  Many well meaning Christians are scurrying around trying to come up with ways to alleviate the consequence instead of correcting the problem.  The fact that a terrifying 75% of our kids are leaving the Faith is a consequence of the fact that we are sending them to ungodly schools.*  We should be dealing with the problem instead of trying to alleviate the consequenceYahuwah commands us to train our children in His ways, not the world's, and also to give Him the entire day for discipleship.

Summing It Up

So let us paint the picture.

The father and mother are teaching their children, in the ways of God, all throughout the day during all activities.  Math, science, literature, and every other subject are seen as opportunities to teach their children about Yeshua.  They talk of Yahuwah's laws when they walk with their children, when they put their children to bed, when they wake up for breakfast, when they study their Bible, and when they are teaching them to read and write.

What kind of education is this?

This is Faith Based Homeschooling.

      1. Who Teaches? - The Bible is very clear on who is expected to educate children; the parents, particularly the father.  This is a crucial element of Biblical education.  There are those who would have us believe that it is the government's job to educate children for you, and many Christians will say that it is the Church's job to disciple your children.  However, the Bible says that it is the father's responsibility.  Here are just a few verses that speak of this point.

Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead,
bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord (Yahuwah.)”
Eph 6:4 NIV (emphasis mine)
